Specialised Clinics 

In addition to routine consultations we offer a range of specialised clinics. 

Ante-Natal and Post-Natal Clinic - Midwife, Tuesday morning: 08.40 - 13.00; all Doctors in normal surgery times (please request a double appointment). 

Asthma – Sarah Gordon, Practice Nurse, by appointment 

Cervical Smear - Practice Nurse, by appointment. 

Child Health - Health vVsiting team and Doctor, Wednesday mornings 10-11.30. Reminder letters will invite babies and children to attend for all routine immunisations and health checks. 

Family Planning / Contraception - Sarah Gordon (Practice Nurse).  All doctors offer a range of contraceptive services during ordinary surgery appointments, including IUD fitting.  New!! Implanon fitting available from November 2012 with Sarah Gordon.

Counselling - By appointment, after referral by your doctor. 

Diabetes - Dr Hammersley, Dr Baskerville and Vanessa Hustler, Practice Nurse, by appointment or recall letter. 

Flu/Pneumococcal vaccinations - Doctors and nurses, offered annually in the case of flu vaccine to all at-risk patients

NHS Health Check - Practice Nurse, by appointment

Minor Surgery - Doctors by appointment. 

Smoking Cessation –  Mary-Naomi Williams, Practice Nurse, by appointment. 

Travel Immunisation - Practice Nurse by appointment

Weight Management and Dietary Advice - Practice Nurse by appointment

Private Services

We offer the full range of services available under the NHS; free at the point of delivery. Some services, however, such as insurance medicals or Certificates of Fitness to Travel, are not covered by the National Health Service. Please enquire at Reception for information on the current fees.

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Sickness Certificates

You do not require a Doctor's Sickness Certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. Your employer may however require you to complete a self-certification form (SC2) which is available from your employer or at our reception or on the HMRC website.

For any illness lasting longer than seven days you will need to see the Doctor for him/her to issue a Sickness Certificate (F.med3) and for any subsequent renewal of the certificate. If your employer insists on a Sickness Certificate for 7 days or less a charge will be levied.
