Teaching, Training & Research

Medical Students

We are a teaching practice and students sometimes sit in with the doctors and nurses. If you prefer not to have a student sitting in, please let the doctor or receptionist know.

Foundation Year Doctors

There are F2 Doctors who work and are supervised at the practice, one every four months in rotation with the rest of their F2 training.
Foundation Doctors are a grade of medical practitioner undertaking a two year medical training programme which forms the bridge between medical school and general practice training.

Videoing Consultations

As part of on-going training some doctors may on occasion video their consultations. Consent is always obtained from patients prior to there appointment being videod. You of course have the opportunity to decline.

We are now a research practice at 27@Northgate.  This means that we actively support clinical research studies within primary care and you may be asked if you would like to participate in a study either in person or over the phone but this is entirely optional and your care won’t be affected in any way.

One of the organisations with whom we shall be working is the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) a centre of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), an executive agency of the Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC), which regulates medicines, medical devices and blood components for transfusion in the UK.

Patients who would prefer that their information is not used for research and planning purposes should be go to the National Data Opt Out site for patients https://www.nhs.uk/your-nhs-data-matters/ which will enable you to update your sharing preferences.  Telephone number: 0300 303 5678

Patient data privacy is explained in more detail here: https://cprd.com/safeguarding-data

Thank you in anticipation for your help in being able to assist us in this area of important work.
